Restoration Of The Brakes

At either end of the rear axle a horizontal bracket is attached to the axle casing.  The bracket holds the brake rigging in place.  The above photograph shows the brake bracket for the right rear wheel ~ the front of the car is to the right.  The outboard hole in the bracket with the oval tab is where the actuating bolt for the service (foot) brake shoe is installed.  The service brake shoe is attached to the small hole in the oval tab is where   About two inches to the left of the service brake shoe actuator hole is another hole for mounting the handbrake actuator bolt.  At the opposite end of the bracket (left end) a fixed bolt mounts to the bracket to hold the handbrake shoe in place.
