Burner, Pilot, and Superheater Restoration

Burner Fully Assembled

The burner has been fully assembled, painted, and is awaiting installation under the boiler.  The valleys of the burner grate have been filled in with insulation.  The loose pieces of blanket ceramic fiber insulation left over from insulating the burner walls and superheater ring was shredded and dipped in wall paper paste.  Wall paper paste is the same adhesive that the Stanley factory used to hold asbestos insulation in place and it still works very well for the newer ceramic fiber insulations.  Also shown in the photo above the pilot access door has been installed after having it’s mica viewing glass replaced with a new disk of high temperature glass.
