Burner, Pilot, and Superheater Restoration

Pilot Sitting In The Burner Grate

This photo shows the pilot sitting in the burner.  Firing up a Stanley starts by preheating the vaporizer tube of the pilot and then igniting the pilot.  Once the pilot has been lit for a while it will have heated the burner vaporizer (not shown in this picture) and thus the main burner can be ignited.  By placing the pilot within the burner as shown the burner can be ignited quickly.
