Axle, Brake Rigging and Drum – Left Rear Wheel

The pole entering at the top center of the photograph is the perch-pole.  It is attached to the rear axle which is sitting on the yellow triangular steel support of a hydraulic truck lift.  Clearly visible in this photo are the two brake linkages.  On the outside of the brake drum is the contracting foot service brake.  On the inside of the 14-inch diameter brake drum is the expanding hand parking brake.  To the left is the oil and dirt covered copper engine cover.
