As Purchased Condition Of The Car

Under The Black Seat And Floorboards

After lifting out the rear seat cushion and taking up the oak floor boards, direct access to the steam engine (inside the rusty colored tank), generator (missing from the circular bracket at the lower right of center), and battery (square angle frame area at the upper left corner of the frame).  Shown in the photograph is the steel C-channel frame of the car.  The wooden frame of the body sits on the top of the steel frame while the elliptical springs attach to the underside of the frame.  With the steam engine mounted on the axle it is unsprung weight thus lowering the car’s center of gravity while helping in a smoother ride.  At the upper right in the photo is the rear seat back that should be fastened to the wooden body frame but has been nibbled away.
